Welcome to the Useful Prompts for Your Next Creation: Worry Not! When reading the Bible, it becomes very clear that we are not supposed to given in to worry, anxiety or anything of the sort. We are to hand those cares to God and trust in Him. These are prompts using Bible verses that remind us to not worry. These writing prompts can help you create whatever creation God has put in you. First, you’ll be introduced to the prompt name. Then you will find the prompt, which will be a verse or multiple verses that relate to faith. Lastly, you will find four to five questions to help direct your creation. This will help create an efficient and effective writing session.
#1. Be anxious for nothing
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7 (NASB)
Questions:
- What is your main character anxious about?
- Is your main character already putting this scripture into practice or is this something that they are learning in the story?
- What would a poem on this verse look like and feel like to you? Incorporate that into your writing or make it its own poem.
- Is your story set in the past, present or the future? How does that effect things?
#2. Tomorrow
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
– Matthew 6:34 (NASB)
Questions:

- How is the worry cared for outside of any help of the worrier?
- What would a poem on this verse look like and feel like to you? Incorporate that into your writing or make it its own poem.
- What if your worrier is a new Christian and this is one of the first things that they are learning. How would that play out?
#3. A Good Word
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad. – Proverbs 12:25 (NASB)
Questions:
- What is the good word that makes the anxious person glad?
- What is the anxiety weighing the character’s heart down?
- What if the good word is God’s Word. How would that play out?
- Why did this verse stand out to you as a good prompt? Have your character go through a similar experience with this verse or anything else.
#4. Do not fear, I am with you
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ – Isaiah 41:10 (NASB)
Questions:
- What would this look like as a painting? Write out your explanation and have that as a monologue of one of your characters.
- If your main character is already familiar with this sentiment, how can your main character teach this to someone else as a main part of the story?
- What is your character supposed to not be fearing? Have something miraculous happen to solidify their need to lack fear.
